Series Bar Code Verifiers

Quick Check® 600 & 800 Series Bar Code Verifiers

Overview

Easy to Use, Space-Saving Verifiers Meet the Broadest Range of Bar Code Testing Requirements
Bar code reproduction accuracy is critical throughout the distribution supply chain, especially in an era of stringent compliance programs. PSC Quick Check desktop bar code verifiers assure that you produce, receive, and use bar codes that meet these tough requirements.

The QC600 and QC800 verifiers analyze bar code quality against traditional quality parameters and ANSI-CEN-ISO bar code print quality guidelines. Each unit includes all standard symbologies and is manufactured and traceable to N.I.S.T. standards developed by the U.C.C. (Uniform Code Council) and AIM (Automatic Identification Manufacturers).

Choose the Verifier that Best Meets Your Verification Needs
Not all bar code verification applications require analysis of the same parameters, so PSC offers a variety of models to meet specific needs.

The QC600 Series tests traditional and full ANSI/CEN parameters. These models perform quick pass/fail tests or use more powerful measuring tools for highly detailed analysis. Test results are provided through:

·         a 4 line by 20 character LCD

·         light emitting diodes

·         audible tones.

The unit is also RS232 compatible and works with Scanalyst™, a powerful Windows® based verification software package.

The QC800 Series Laser Bar Code Verifier offers the convenience of simple aim-and-shoot verification through the use of a handheld laser bar code reader. Quickly perform pass/fail testing of dimensional and format quality parameters, including:

·         average bar deviation

·         wide-to-narrow ratios

·         encodation

·         ANSI-CEN-ISO decodability

By using optional mouse and pen style wands, the following tests can be performed:

·         Full traditional and ANSI-CEN-ISO dimensional

·         reflectance and format tests.

Command Code Programming
Quick Check verifiers are easy to use, yet packed with high performance features that utilize the most sophisticated test methods. Every model can be instantly programmed to test specific bar code specifications by simply scanning command codes or by using the easy-to-follow programming menu which guides an operator through each step.

Interchangeable Input Devices
To accomodate varying label densities, interchangeable mouse and pen wands allow a user to select the appropriate aperture:

·         in mouse wands choose from: 3, 5, 6, 10, and 20 mil sizes

·         in pen wands choose from: 5, 6, and 10 mil sizes

These wands can be used with the 600 or 800 Series verifiers to make any bar code verification process more flexible and efficient.

Optional Printers, Download Output Results and Battery/AC Power
If needed, a detailed hard copy printout can be produced from any of the Quick Check desktop models using an optional Quick Check printer. Or, results can be downloaded to a PC via an RS232 communication interface. Each verifier is powered by AA NiCad rechargeable batteries and an AC charger.

Quick Check® OLV-20 On-Line Verifier

Overview

On-line Verification Ensures Quality Bar codes From Your Printers
Bar code verification is more than just scanning a bar code to see if it can be read. Verification is a process of decoding the data, measuring critical key characteristics, and assuring that the bar code will be readable in a wide variety of environments and scanning systems. By placing this verification "on-line", you can reduce costly waste of time, resources and labor right at the source of potential problems.

The One Series of Verifiers Designed Specifically For Your Business Needs
The Quick Check series of on-line bar code verifiers provides continuous inspection of labels as they are being printed, applied, stacked or handled. Bar codes should be verified by decodability, readability and overall quality as close to generation as possible. Our product design gives you the flexibility to place an on-line verifier into your process precisely where it will do the most to improve productivity, reduce cost and increase quality.

The Model 20 uses a laser verifier separate from the main controller for "print-and-apply" or conveyor verification arrangements and it has an internal power supply. This verifier will read one-half inch high bar codes at speeds of up to eight inches per second.

It's Like Having an Extra Set of Eyes Watching Over Your Business All the Time
The Model 20 can be programmed to use data from the verifier about the quality of the bar codes in process to automatically control the printer's pause function or to illuminate an indicator light, activate an external alarm, shut down the system or initiate other functions of your choice. Also, because of its detachable verification design, the Model 20 can also be programmed to control conveyor and other machine functions.

Get the Performance You Expected From Your Bar Code Program
Poor quality bar codes can bring a lot more problems than just short-term process costs and productivity losses. Unreadable or incorrect bar codes can cause massive shipping returns, database corruption and even customer fines. The accuracy, readability and compliance of each and every bar code we use is critical. All the productivity and cost savings we expect when we institute bar code programs can only be realized if we ensure the quality of the bar codes themselves.
